A North Carolina artist... 1938-2003 In memory of Mom, this blog was started in 2008 to organize her works (paintings, slides, transparencies, poems, plays, music, stories, and more). Please feel free to contribute stories, anecdotes, thoughts and more! (comment or email me) My hope is for her legacy to be there for those who loved her to remember her.

Thank you for connecting!
Thank you Kathee Smith and Suzie Waterman for getting in touch with me over the past couple of weeks! I have several people to visit in NC when I make it home who have some of Mom's work to give to the family. I also look forward to checking out the UNC TV station where her Carolina Morning painting is to get a nice photo for Samantha. Any additions, please feel free to post. I would like to start gathering some memories.... more documents to come soon.

So I went to see Mom's huge (6 foot?) painting at the UNC-TV station with my husband and sister Meg. Tears filled my eyes. It is in their lobby. Mom often shared things like this but we were just little kids then... to grow up and see what she was really up to while we were at the pool or driving her crazy is amazing.
ReplyDeletePatricia - I think the painting still belongs to you kids. She didn't sell the painting, according to what she told me. There was some sort of agreement. You should find out what the agreement was. Take care - Kathee
